Bournemouth FC is looking to obtain two league wins in a row for the first time this season, as they take on Cowes Sports away from home.

Poppies were able to overcome Brockenhurst 1-0 during midweek thanks to Matt Nicholl’s superb 50-yard effort, which gave them only their second three points of the league campaign.

They currently sit in 17th position in the Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division with eight points. In comparison Cowes Sports are one position and one point behind the Poppies, albeit having played two less games.

Will the team be able to keep the “momentum” and get the 3 points?

The importance of the match cannot be understated for both teams, as a win would help either side pull away from Solent University and Amesbury Town just below them.

The Yachtsman’s form has been underwhelming with one win and four losses in their last five matches, including comprehensive defeats to Horndean (6-1) and Hamworthy United (5-2).

Bournemouth’s form is exactly the same, having also suffered some heavy losses to sides like AFC Stoneham and Portland United, before the success over Brockenhurst.

Last season Bournemouth came out on top in both encounters, with 3-0 and 3-1 wins. However, this match looks to be a closer affair given the sides’ places in the table.

For team news, Bournemouth have goalkeeper Sam Jones returning to the squad after playing for Hamworthy United FC and Lymington Town FC .

Cowes Sports vs Bournemouth FC will take place at Westwood Park on Saturday 16th November at 3pm.
