Poppies aim for victory against Hamble Club

Bournemouth are aiming to get their second league victory of the season as they host Hamble Club this Saturday.

✍️ Carlo Simone / 📷 Giancarlo Bocchetti | –  After a disappointing 6-1 away defeat to AFC Portchester, the Poppies are seeking to end their four match winless run in the league.

Hamble currently sit in 12th position in the league, just above Bournemouth in 14th, having played two fewer games.

When the sides met last season, they drew 1-1 at Bournemouth in September 2018, whilst the Monks came out on top in their home game by winning 3-2.

With regards to recent form, the Poppies have two draws and three defeats in their last five games, with one of those draws leading to a loss on penalties against Newport IoW FC in the Hampshire Senior Cup.

Meanwhile, Hamble have only played two league games in their last five, beating Baffins Milton Rovers 3-2 and Shaftesbury Town 2-0. In cup competitions they progressed in the Sydenhams Wessex League Cup by beating Pewsey Vale 1-0, but lost to Bradford Town 1-0 in the FA Vase.

For team news, Howard Nhechema is back in the squad after returning from holiday.

Manager Leo Cabeleira has also added Liam Harris to the team as a second-choice goalkeeper.

Bournemouth FC vs Hamble Club will take place at Victoria Park on 28th September 2019 at 3pm.
